Trendy sauces are in, margarin is out

Dutch consumers are increasingly choosing a new-style bread roll rather than the traditional white or brown bun filled with ham or cheese. However, retailers need to be in a position to satisfy this demand by offering a range of exciting new breads and fillings. This in turn opens up opportunities for Unifine Sauces & Spices (Unifine), which specialises in herbs, spices, dressings and sauces for the food service market and food industry.

Several service stations already cater for hungry travellers by providing a range of tasty, trendy bread snacks. Fresh rolls, made to order, are replacing pre-packed rolls. For example, Esso now has a Delifrance corner and BP has the Wild Bean Cafe. Every petrol company wants to stand out from the competition. The same applies to branches of Delifrance and Bakker Bart, as well as to lunchrooms. They all aim to tempt the appetite of the shopping public with tasty and unusual items. In Unifine’s test kitchens, the Unifine master chef is busily developing innovative ideas for bread-based meals to suit in-shop catering formulas.

Originality
Fresh, delicious and healthy are some of the terms that define today’s bread and sandwich market. Trendy sauces are in and margarine is out. Sauces and spicy dressings can do so much more when it comes to varying and enhancing flavour, with no loss of creaminess. Unifine uses the customer’s marketing concept to create suitable variations in its own test kitchens. For example, a savoury bread roll finished with Unifine’s unique spicy chocolate sauce, ‘Mole Poblano’.

Or how about a soft, meat-filled roll, flavoured with delicious mushroom sauce. The same sauce is perfect in vol-au-vent mixes, putting two new items on the menu at once. Useful for pubs serving food or snackbars with restricted kitchen facilities. Unifine is continuously finding ways to combine originality and practicality, for your benefit.
