| NMa ends investigation into sugar sector |

On Thursday 9 March 2006 the NMa (Netherlands Competition Authority) announced that it had completed its investigation into the sugar sector. The NMa wanted to find out whether, and if so to what extent, unlawful agreements had been concluded in the chain and/or with competitors. Cosun and Suiker Unie cooperated fully to this investigation. The investigation into the sugar sector has not produced any concrete evidence of an infringement of the Competition Act.
