Cosun takes over French bakery ingredients supplier Caullet S.A.S.

Cosun takes over bakery ingredients supplier Caullet S.A.S. ant its exporting company Caulinter. This French company will become part of Cosun’s business group Unifine F&Bi that develops, produces and supplies food ingredients to bakers, confectioners and ice cream producers as well as to industrial bakeries and to the foodservice sector.

Caullet is a major player in the manufacturing and distribution of pastry ingredients.  Its high quality ingredients are supplied to wholesalers, whereas Caulinter, the exportation company of Caullet, delivers to customers abroad. In France Caullet is market leader in glazes and fondants. The company was founded in 1950 and is equipped with a very modern factory and employs a staff of 32.

Unifine F&Bi develops, produces and supplies food ingredients to bakers, confectioners and ice cream producers as well as to industrial bakeries and to the foodservice sector, and is one of the top four in Europe. The Caullet product range of glazes and fondants are complementary to the existing product range of Unifine F&Bi.

Unifine F&Bi has sales offices in nine European countries, production locations in Belgium, Germany, Hungary, Portugal, Spain and the Netherlands, where the head office is based. The acquisition of the Caullet facility strengthens the production capabilities of Unifine F&Bi in France and other European countries.

Unifine F&Bi’s aim is to take the next development step of the Caullet location together with the experienced and successful local team. For the existing Caullet customers the present activities will be continued and will benefit from the new European competence.

The takeover confirms the position of Unifine F&Bi as one of the major players in the European market for food ingredients for bakery, confectionery and ice cream. France being one of its key markets, this acquisition consolidates the position of Unifine F&Bi in this specific market.
