All Cosun companies have to comply with legislation on animal feed and human foodstuffs. The legislative and regulatory requirements the government makes on food and feed manufacturers are increasing both in number and in detail. Existing rules are being harmonised across Europe and the European Commission is introducing new rules that are applicable to all member states.

The Food & Feed Legislation Desk optimises all the expertise available within the Cosun business groups. We closely monitor new legislation and, where possible, participate in national and international working groups involved in the preparation and development of regulations. We also ‘interpret’ the current rules to make them as accessible and practicable as possible for each business group.

Which areas do we cover? We have expertise on all rules relating to food and feed, and to all production methods and products in the food chain. Key terms are product liability, food safety, recipe and formula regulations, processing aids, labelling, nutritional value and health claims, novel foods and GMOs.
